Breaking Barriers: A Journey Towards Gender Equality

 

Monday – Opening Activities Integration into a real Lithuanian school environment and understanding of different educational systems.

Students attended lessons according to the host student’s timetable from 8:00 to 8:45, allowing them to observe and experience the Lithuanian school routine.

At 9:00, the Opening Session took place in Classroom No. 213. During this session, participants were introduced to the project objectives, expected outcomes, and key values of inclusion and cooperation. An ice-breaking activity was organized in the multisensory classroom to help students and teachers get to know each other in an engaging and relaxed way.

At 10:30, an ethnocultural concert was held. Each project team presented a song, dance, or traditional game from their country, along with slides introducing their school and national culture. This activity fostered intercultural exchange and mutual appreciation.

At 11:40, participants were given a guided tour of the school to familiarize themselves with the facilities and learning environment.

Lunch was provided at school at 12:10.

In the afternoon, students took part in project activities focused on the theme of gender equality. The teams had prepared presentations about the situation around Gender Equality in their countries. Each team presented a cultural desk.

From 13:30 to 14:30, a guided tour of Marijampolė was conducted, introducing participants to the city’s landmarks and local history.

 

Tuesday – Creative Workshops and Visit to Kaunas

·         Encouragement of creativity and national identity through the 'national flower' workshop.
·         Historical and cultural learning through exploration of Kaunas Old Town.
·         Improved independence and social interaction during free exploration time.
·         Strengthening group cohesion during travel and shared experiences.
·         Development of digital and creative thinking skills through the virtual reality experience.


The day began with a creative workshop from 8:00 to 9:30, during which students created their “national flower”, symbolizing their country’s identity and creativity.

At 9:40, the group departed from the school to Kaunas. Upon arrival, from 11:00 to 12:00, participants enjoyed a guided tour of Kaunas Old Town, learning about the city’s historical and cultural heritage.

From 12:00 to 14:00, students and teachers had free time for lunch and exploration.

Later, at 14:15, participants experienced a virtual reality session titled "Creation of Worlds", where they actively engaged with VR technology in an immersive learning experience.
In the afternoon, the group returned to Marijampolė at 15:15. 


Wednesday – Dance, Culture, Gender Equality and City Exploration

·         Improved social integration by following the host students’ timetable.
·         Physical wellbeing and teamwork development through dance activities.
·         Enhanced understanding of inclusion and gender equality through project activities.
·         Hands‑on cultural learning at the Marijampolė Cultural Center.
·         Better understanding of local life and history through the city tour. Problem‑solving and teamwork skills through the orientation game with Actionbound app.
·         Practical application of collaborative learning in a real environment.

Students again attended regular lessons from 8:00 to 8:45 to deepen their understanding of the host school’s daily routine.

At 9:00, a dance class was organized, encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and creative expression through movement.

From 10:30 to 12:30, participants took part in a cultural creative workshop at the Marijampolė Cultural Center, where they engaged in hands-on artistic and cultural activities. Lunch was arranged at school from 12:45 to 13:15.

At 13:15, the participants continued their presentations about Gender Equality. Furthermore the participants worked on the project quality plan and dissemination strategies discussing how to share the project results within their schools and communities.

From 14:00 to 15:00, students participated in an orientation game in Marijampolė using the Actionbound app. This interactive activity combined teamwork, problem-solving, and exploration of the city in a fun and engaging way.

 

Thursday – Reflection and Nature Experience in Birštonas, Trakai and Vilnius Cultural Visits

·         Reflection skills and self‑evaluation of learning outcomes.
·         Recognition of participation through certificate distribution.
·         Connection with nature and environmental awareness at Birštonas Observation Tower.
·         Strengthening memories and group bonding at the end of the project.
·         Deepened historical knowledge through the visit to Trakai Castle.
·         Cultural heritage appreciation at the Royal Palace in Vilnius.
·         Development of autonomy and exploration skills during free time in Vilnius Old Town.
·         Broader understanding of Lithuanian history, architecture, and traditions.

The morning began with a reflection session from 8:00 to 8:30, where participants shared their experiences, thoughts, and learning outcomes from the project. Certificates were distributed during this session.

At 8:30 the group departed from the school to the Birštonas Observation Tower. This visit provided an opportunity to enjoy nature, observe the landscape from above, and conclude the project with a memorable shared experience.


After arriving in  Trakai, the participants had lunch independently. At 13:30, the group visited Trakai Castle, one of Lithuania’s most famous historical sites, gaining insights into medieval history and architecture.

At 15:00, the group departed for Vilnius. Upon arrival at 16:00, participants visited the Royal Palace, further exploring Lithuanian heritage.

From 17:00 to 18:00, students and teachers had free time in Vilnius Old Town to explore the surroundings before returning to Marijampolė at 18:00.

The German Team said Goodbye and stayed in Vilnius, continuing exploring the Old Town.

Friday – Departure

Participants joined the last hours with their host families, prepared for departure, concluding the week of intensive educational and cultural exchange.

All teams left to their home towns.
